Dear Friends:  Due to the World Cup Soccer Championships during the month of June in South Africa, I have been forced to cancel our planned short-term mission trip to Kenya this summer.  

Airplane tickets are scarce and at a premium for June (and for the entire summer for that matter!) so I have rescheduled this team trip for the first 2 weeks of May.  We need you to join us on this team!!! We need both men and women to assist with the ministries which are listed in the announcement below.  If you are available please give me a call or hit reply to this email message.  But please hurry…Irene, one of our little girls at our Children’s Home in Kenya, is stuck up in a tree and needs your help!!!

Announcement of Kenya May 2010 ministry trip:   May 1-16, 2010 
 
The Kenya May 2010 team will be focusing on 2 primary ministries. 
 
Continued construction projects on the First Love Children’s Home property in Nairobi.  Our number 1 focus will be to put the roof
on our new 3 story dormitory building which is located on our 5 acre property.  In addition, there will be much painting, electrical, welding,
landscaping, and furniture making and finishing to do!
       
Kids Clubs at our Children’s Home and in the Kibera slum.  Child evangelism is at the heart of these VBS type outreach ministries. 
The program includes Bible stories, songs, crafts, & games.
 
The cost for this 2 week ministry trip is approximately $3,700 per person.  This price includes airfare, lodging, food,
cost of visa, land transportation, emergency medical insurance, and a donation towards the cost of materials used in
construction. There is also an optional 2 day safari into the Masai Mara which you could avail yourself of for an additional
cost of approximately $850 per person, plus game park fees.   You may raise funds for this trip and all donors will receive a
tax deductible receipt for their gift from First Love.
